I’m drunk (give me some beer)
Tanja Dückers

I don’t eat nothin’, I don’t go to work today,
I don’t watch TV, I even don’t drink beer.
I’m drunk enough...

I ignore car crashes and beggars
on my way to nowhere, I am roaming
the streets, just with you
on my mind.
I collect pennies, screws
and newspapers.
Lose them again.
Like I found you.

I’m drunk
not of beer, but of your sweat
from last night.
Still I’m drunk.
Can’t even walk straight...

I guess I am good lunch today
for the mosquitos
with my glowing naked arms, legs, throat...
And the strong sun above me
relentlessly grinds my forehead, my shoulders,
while I run
in circles through the city,
rabbit I am,
on the verge of fainting.
I’m so drunk. Now give me some beer...
to bring me down again.
